What to do in Chiang Mai

Doi Inthanon


Is the highest mountain in Thailand and is a part of a 482 km² national park in Chiang Mai Province. The national park is a part of the Himalayan mountain range, due to the high altitude, the park has high humidity and cool weather all year round.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep


First constructed in 1383, it is one of the sacred temples for Thai Buddhists because it is said that its stupa contains a bone relic of the Buddha. The temple is 15 kilometres from the city of Chiang Mai. From the temple, impressive views of Chiang Mai can be seen.

Wat Chedi Luang


Is a Buddhist temple in the historic centre of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The current temple grounds are made up of three original temples: Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Ho Tham and Wat Sukmin.

The Yee Peng Chiang Mai Festival


Yee Peng refers to the full moon of the 12nd month in the Thai lunar calendar (this year it was November 22nd, 2018). During this festival, Lanna people launch floating lanterns into the night sky to symbolise the casting away of misfortune.

Wat Phra Singh


The Wat Phra Singh dates back to the 14th century when Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom and it is one of the finest examples of classicical Lanna style architecture in Northern Thailand.

Wat Phan Tao


Wat Phan Tao is a beautifully rustic wooden temple with a mystical and enchanting garden area. Sitting next to the famous Wat Chedi Luang, this temple is often overlooked but is worth a visit.
